Missed Meets leads with style and storytelling to get people excited about sustainable urbanism.
Missed Meets is a weekly illustrated fiction series, but it's also a vehicle for your business values, for your organization's vision of the future.
The stylish series is a project in arts & culture storytelling making permaculture and sustainable urbanism desirable, romantic, and fun. It helps to solve the "how do we get young people to care?" problem without being preachy.
Sponsors help us print and place these stories in cafes, libraries, and schools. In return, your story is creatively communicated in a compelling way, and your business is associated with community goodwill and contributing to local artists.
Distributed free in cafés, parks, and libraries across the city, each 250-word story features hand-drawn illustrations and shows young people a Philadelphia where sustainable living, community care, and everyday magic coexist.
The short stories in Missed Meets feel deeply personal and capture the charm and grit of Philly. Their short length and access in various spots across the city allow for readers to enjoy bite-sized treats of narrative delights...a short pause in their day to inspire style, innovation, and most importantly, action.
Teachers need engaging, low-cost, cross-curricular (literacy + science/social studies) activities that don't feel like standardized test prep.
I'm piloting creative writing workshops in Philly schools where students write their own solarpunk neighborhood stories. The workshop serves to solve schools' problem of engaging students in literacy through culturally relevant, art & science-forward storytelling.
